Batman :: Joker no-makeup!
okay
We went to the Dallas World Aquarium today. It was nice. It was more of a ... rainforest zoo than an aquarium, which was a disappointment. I could do without all the rainforest for it to have a lot more fish. I like fish a lot. I like monkeys, pigmy marmosets, toucans and all that jazz, but I want to see moar manatees and giant fucking fish from river systems. I could have stood in front of the manatee tank all day and still have found things to stare at in there. Huge arapimas and catfish! Manatees nomnoming on lettuce. Needs moar.

I have lots of pictures but I won't upload them because I'm sad that my stupid flickr account has locked all of my old photos when it expired. That is so goddamn stupid.

We went to the North Park mall afterwards and wandered around. We're small-town kids, so being in a mall with designer stores is a big thing for us. I was oogling shoes and purses. There was a Lush store and let me tell you, that shit stinks! I don't care if they're natural or vegan, most of their stuff smelled so gross and was so greasy.

We ate some dinner at a nice restaurant and then came back to Lindale, where Brent bought me a cheap bookshelf I wanted from Walmart. I'm putting it in my sewing room so I can finally organize things a bit better. All of my fabric is going on the shelf. Still dunno what I'm doing with the fleece that won't fit in my dresser.

Susan left me a comment on my friends-only entry, asking how I've been. I don't think I'm going to respond.

northpark mall is the greatest mall in the entire universe. i still don't like the new addition, i liked it MUCH better without a movie theater and a food court...but goddamn it's the greatest mall in all creation.

p.s. one of the most fun things in the world is going to the top floor of the neimans store (you know, where they have things like...personal shoppers and $10k dresses) and convincing everyone there that you have enough money to justify their personal attention. i am a champ at this game.

LOL, that's too funny! We didn't go on the top floor, I am sad now. We went through the spritzy perfume ladies.

A girl I met in Houston and became friends with, who shacked up with a pretty gross old ex-boyfriend of mine.

It was a few years ago. I stopped being friends with her after that. He's a manipulative bastard and just being in the same town with him gave me the creeps.

The Japanese have a habit of making anything look like a work of art. I am so jealous. If I could read and speak the language, I would visit there.

rofl, I can't help but wonder exactly what Lush products you were touching that made you feel 'greasy'. I use Lush soap and I also do the Lush hand treatment (among other things - I used a Lush mud facial relaxer for about 2 weeks before the wedding, for example) and 'greasy' is the last word I would use to describe it. Some of their stuff smells, but anything made with honey is delicious. Mm, Honey I Washed the Kids soap... <3

Most of the soaps there were gross and oily. I could just feel a breakout coming on by touching them. The dry soaps I was messing with really did not smell good at all. The only thing I picked up that smelled halfway decent was some kind of honey soap. I think Honey I Washed The Kids was it.

The rest was gross. The entire place smelled like rotting fruit. I was really shocked.

To each their own, I guess xD I love the smell of Lush stores. I have so many of their bath bombs and bubble bath bars... gah, I love it.

Awww, manateeeees! They are so cute and sweet. I went to the Dallas aquarium a long ass time ago and I remember being disappointing by their lack of fish then, too. I guess fish cost more money than marmosets.
